My face mask collection

If you've been with me for a while you know that lately I've been interested in face masks. So I've been trying out quite a few for over a year already and I think I now know what I like and need from a face mask.

The main thing about face mask for me is that I need to see/feel instant results after using it. If I don't see or feel anything special after using a mask, I'm not going to keep trying it out.

Is it the same for you?

So here are the masks I currently use. I mainly have two types of masks - ones that are suppose to clear out my skin and ones that are soothing/moisturising.

I do have some that I have tried and didn't like so if you'd like me to explain why I didn't like them, leave a comment below.

Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash/Mask - you can use this product as a daily face wash to help reduce spots or as a face mask to purify and unclog pores. I never use this daily as a face wash because my skin is usually clear and I don't need that kind of active acne treatment so often. But I like to use it as a mask because you only have to keep it on for 5 minutes. It clears my skin and if I have a developing zit, it calms it down and therefore it heals quicker. It can also be used as a spot-treatment. Very nice express mask when you're in a hurry. If you want to know more about this mask, please read Ruth Crilly's (A Model Recommends) blog post on it, she's just so much better in explaining things and this post was the reason I got this mask :)

Queen Helene The Original Mint Julep Masque - this was the first face mask in a very long time that I tried and I instantly fell in love with it. I have a full review on it HERE and it made it to my 2014 favourites. It clears my skin, makes my large pores less visible and is very easy to use. And yes, I still have the old packaging which I actually like more than the new one :)

Avon Clearskin Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask - seems like this is my current favourite clearing face mask. I wrote a full review on it HERE. I can see and feel instant results with this mask - my skin is clearer and as the previous ones this one also calmed down developing hurtful zits. Love it a lottttttt :)

United Exchange Nu-pore Collagen Essence Facial Tissue Masks - I got it recently in my latest iHerb haul and haven't used it yet but I hear that tissue masks are a cult favourite :) This pack has two masks in it - Fresh Aloe that's firming, moisturising and elasticizing and Cucumber that is moisturising, soothing and purifying. I will let you know how I like them once I've used them. At the moment this product is available at iHerb (LINK) as a trial for only $0.50 (regular price $2.95).

JOIK Radiance Improving Cranberry & Black Currant Face Mask for dull and lifeless skin - I'm not a big fan of masks that I have to mix my own but it's very easy with this one. You just need one spoonful of mask and one spoonful of water or milk/herbal tea/natural yoghurt. It feels nice on the skin, doesn't dry it out, does make it feel cleaner and soft and once it dries it becomes a bit gritty which makes it a great face scrub. 2-in-1 product :)

NOVexpert The Repulp Mask - this is supposed to be express anti-aging care for all skin types. I like to use this mask at winter when my skin is dull, dry and exhausted. I remember that the first time I used this mask last winter I was in awe! My skin loved it so much! Will definitely use it again when the weather gets cold and it's perfect for more mature skin all year round :)

Natura Siberica Active Organics Anti-fatigue face mask - unfortunately I can't find a link to this product. I've used this only once and I haven't made up my mind yet so I will let you know soon. I think that for my combination skin it's more suitable for colder seasons :)

Oriflame Love Nature Restoring Peel-off mask for stressed skin - there is something very satisfying in peeling off this mask. My skin feels hydrated and soft after using it :) Another one that I mainly use during autumn/winter :)

Viimase aasta jooksul olen ma kokku ostnud päris palju näomaske ja arvan end nüüd teadvat, millised maskid mulle meeldivad ja millised mitte. Üks, mis kindel - kui ma ei näe/tunne kohest efekti pärast maski kasutamist, siis ma rohkem seda ka ei proovi :)

Hetkel on mul kasutuses 8 maski, millest kolm on puhastavad ja ülejäänud rahustavad/niisutavad, mida kasutan enamasti külmematel aastaaegadel.

Küll aga meeldib mulle seda maskina kasutada kui on arenemas mõni punn või tahaks lihtsalt kiiruga maski seda - nimelt tuleb seda näol hoida vaid 5 minutit. Saadaval enamikes poodides, mina ostsin enda oma Rimist ja maksis see umbes 6 eurot.

Queen Helene The Original Mint Julep Masque - selle maski kohta kirjutasin SIIN. Väga mõnus mask, mis on efektiivne naha ebapuhtustega võitlemisel. Ostsin enda oma iHerb'ist (LINK). Kui sa pole varem iHerb'ist tellinud, kasuta koodi LWH786, et saada oma esimeselt ostult kuni 10$ allahindlust :)
Avon Clearskin mustade mineraalidega mask - siiani minu kõige lemmikum puhastav mask, mille kohta kirjutasin pikemalt SIIN. See mask on tihtilugu Avonis soodukaga, mil selle võib kätte saada alla 4 euroga. Hetkel kehtivas kataloogis on see veidi kallim, kuskil 5 euro ringis.

Natura Siberica väsimuse vastane mask - ostsin selle maski oma sõbranna emalt, kes käib neid Venemaalt toomas, seega ei leia ma ka selle maski kohta ei täpset nime ega linki. Proovinud olen seda korra ja ma ei oskagi hetkel seisukohta võtta, kas see mulle meeldib või mitte. Proovin korra veel ja siis on näha :)
Oriflame Love Nature viinamarjadega kilemask - selle maski eemaldamises on midagi nii mõnusat, et just sellepärast meeldib see mulle väga. Nahk on pehme ega kisu pärast selle kasutamist. Kirjutasin sellest veidi ka SIIN. Osta saab SIIT.

Review: Avon Clearskin Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask

I discovered this mask after a local blogger reviewed it, so being on some strange mask obsession lately I just had to try it and I am happy I did.

This is Avon Clearskin Pore Penetrating black mineral clay mask that has 0.5% Salicylic Acid in it.

There's 75ml product in it and you're suppose to spread it evenly on your face, wait for 10-15 minutes until the black cream turns light grey and then wash it off.

I have used it for several times and I do see instant results - my skin is soft, my pores tighter and blackheads less visible. Also if I'm having a developing painful zit, this mask seems to calm it down a bit making it less hurtful.

I would suggest this mask from normal to oily skin types and acne prone skin.

All in all, I like this mask a lot and even more because it's so affordable.

As usual, I suggest you keep your eye on campaigns because I've seen it on sale quite frequently

Selle maski avastasin Genefic'i blogist ning kuna olen viimalsel ajal igasugustest maskidest suures vaimustuses, tahtsin selle kindlasti ära proovida :)

Poore sügavpuhastavat mustade mineraalidega maski on tuubis 75 ml ja kuni 29.07 saab selle kätte 3.89€ eest.

Mask on tuubis musta värvi, seda tuleb puhtale nahale ühtlaselt peale kanda ning oodata 10-15 minutit kuni mask helehalliks muutub.

Ma näen koheseid tulemusi pärast selle maski kasutamist - mu nahk on pehme, poorid ahenenud ja mustpead oluliselt heledamad. Lisaks, kui mul on mõni valulik punn tekkimas, aitab see mask punnil rahuneda ning see muutub vähem valusaks.

Sobilik ennekõike normaalsest kuni rasuse naha omanikele ning neile, kel on aknele kalduv nahatüüp.

Haul: Oriflame Love Nature & The One

I've been a bit of a face mask hoarder lately. It started last year and seems to be continuing this year as well :)

Oriflame had an offer few weeks back where you got a face mask and scrub for less than 5€. 

So I got the Love Nature Aloe Vera Hydrating Gel Mask and Hydrating Face Scrub for combination skin.

I really like the scrub because it has tons of exfoliating particles in it and is gentle at the same time. I really enjoy using it. The gel mask on the other hand doesn't feel very hydrating so this one I wouldn't repurchase next time.

I think I used a peel off mask about 10 years ago last time so I wanted to try it again. I got the Love Nature Restoring Grape Peel-off Mask for stressed skin. I like it a lot. My skin feels calm and hydrated after using it and the whole process of removing this peel-off mask is so funny :)

I also got two of The One Colour Impact Cream Eye Shadows in Rose Gold and Golden Brown.

The Rose Gold shade is more on the peachy side in my opinion but I like the colour a lot. It's perfect on days where I don't have time to spend a lot of time on makeup. 

The shade Golden Brown was a bit of a disappointment because to me, it seems to have green/olive undertone to it, so not really a colour that I wanted and that suits me.

In order for them to stay put whole day, I need to use an eyeshadow primer. They are easy to use and blend and are cream to powder texture.

I like the Rose Gold one and they are nice but I'm not in love with them, so I don't think I will repurchase.

Eelmises Oriflame kataloogis oli mõnus pakkumine, kus kaks Love Nature toodet maksid kokku alla 5€. Kuna ma olen alates eelmisest aastast hakanud proovima erinevaid maske ja sellega natuke liiga hoogu läinud, tellisin loomulikult mõne veel juurde :D

Kõigepealt tellisin komplekti Oriflame Love Nature Aloe Vera niisutavast geelmaskist ja näokoorijast kombineeritud nahale.

Näokoorija meeldib mulle väga, selles on palju koorivaid osakesi, olles samas naha vastu õrn. Geelmask mulle erilist muljet ei avaldanud, sest ma ei tunneta, et see mu nahka piisavalt niisutaks.

Love Nature viinamarjaga taastav kilemask stressis nahale meeldib mulle väga. Mu nahk on rahunenud ja piisavalt niisutatud peale selle maski kasutamist ning kogu maski eemaldamine on väga lõbus tegevus.

Soodushinnaga olid ka The One Colour Impact Cream Eye Shadow kreemlauvärvid, millest tellisin toonid Rose Gold ja Golden Brown. Rose Gold on pigem virsikukarva kui roosa aga meeldib mulle sellegipoolest. Eriti päevil, mil ma ei viitsi/pole aega meigi kallal mässata. Toon Golden Brown on roheka alatooniga, mistõttu pole see toon see, mida ma soovisin ning see ka ei sobi mulle. 

Selleks, et need lauvärvid veatuna hommikust õhtuni püsiksid, vajan ma lauvärvi aluskreemi. Need muutuvad peale kandes kreemist puudriks ning neid on kerge hajutada.

Üldiselt on need lauvärvid okei tooted kuid kuna ma neist vaimustusse ei sattunud, ei osta neid ilmselt uuesti.

New stuff from JOIK

JOIK is an Estonian natural cosmetics company founded in 2005 which products are handmade in Estonia using as natural products as possible.

My first obsession started with their scented soy wax candles - everyone can find a scent that's close to their hearts, they burn clean and nice and one candle is enough make my entire apartment smell divine. You can also reuse the glass the candle was in. I keep my liners, mascaras and other slim tubes in my candle glasses :)

 

JOIK is currently revamping their products by putting them in new packaging. Creams come in nice pump-bottles and face-masks in small pots which makes using them so much easier.

Also, they constantly come out with new products and lovely people from the company sent me two brand new products to try out - Radiance Improving Cranberry & Black Currant Facial Mask for dull and lifeless skin and Wild Berry Soap.

 

I haven't tried the handmade cold-process Wild Berry Soap yet but I can tell you - it really smells like wild berries and having it on my bathroom cabinet makes all of it smell like berries. Also, doesn't it look just so yummy? Lovely as a present and surely anyone can find a soap at their online-shop.

 

I tried the Radiance Improving Cranberry & Black Currant Facial Mask for dull and lifeless skin  once and first of all - thank you JOIK for putting your masks in these little and very convenient pots. I wasn't a big fan of the previous packaging :)

My skin isn't particularly dull or lifeless and only by using it once, I can't really say that I now look like a star :) But it felt nice on the skin and most importantly - didn't dry my skin out. I have been disappointed in many masks before because of them drying my skin out too much. This one didn't do that and I will use it again. As it dried, it became a little gritty and as I was washing it off, I used to exfoliate my skin with it and my pores actually did look cleaner afterwards. I will definitely write a more thorough review on it once I've tested it for a longer period of time or in one of my empties post (rather sooner than later :D ).

My first impressions are good and this mask is perfect for an at-home-spa-session for pampering yourself :)

JOIK on ilmselt bränd, mida ühelegi eestlasele lähemalt tutvustada ei ole vaja :)
Minu armastus algas nende sojavaha küünaldest - imehead lõhnad, puhas põlemine ja taaskasutatavad klaasid, milles mina hoian oma silma-ja huulepliiatseid ja erinevaid väikseid kitsaid tuube.

Nii saadeti ka mulle proovimiseks kaks täiesti uut toodet - käsitsi valmistatud külmprotsess Metsamarjaseep ning jumet parandav Jõhvika ja mustsõstra näomask tuhmile ja elutule nahale.

 

Metsamarjaseepi (3.20€) pole ma veel proovinud kuid olen sellest marjasest lõhnast täielikus vaimustuses. Hetkel on see mu vannitoakapis ja kogu kapi sisemus lõhnab lihtsalt oivaliselt :) Ja kui tore see seep veel välja näeb! Hea kingitus endale või kallile inimesele. Jõhvika ja mustsõstra näomaski (5€) olen proovinud ühe korra. Kõigepealt, suur aitäh JOIK'ile uue pakendi eest. Kogu maski kasutamise ja kokkusegamise protsess on nüüd palju mugavam ja puhtam :)

Mask on näol mõnus ega kuivata seda liigselt. Kui kuivanud maski maha hakkasin pesema, oli see muutunud veidi teraliseks ja nii koorisin oma nahka pesemise ajal ka maskiga. Tulemuseks pehme ja mõnus nahk ning mulle tundub, et pooridki olid puhtamad. Kas mu nahk säravaks ja elavaks muutus, ei oska ma veel öelda. Veel meeldis ka see, et mu näonahk ei kiskunud ega muutunud liialt kuivaks pärast maski mahapesemist. Esmamulje on väga hea ning kindlasti kasutan maski ka edaspidi :)

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

I got Queen Helene The Original Mint Julep Masque about a month ago and have tried it for maybe five times since.

I must say that this face mask is very very good for the price :)

It promises to help dry up acne pimples, rinse away blackheads and shrink enlarged pores.

You're supposed to apply it generously on clean face and leave it on for about 15 minutes.

The consistency of this mask is very creamy and because of that applying it is easy. I also love that my skin doesn't feel extremely dry after using it as has happened before with some other clay masks. 

At first it tingles on my skin and if I have some minor skin injuries it might even sting a little bit. But nothing major and I actually like the tingling feeling :)

I also love the minty scent of it :)

"Luckily" I have a few breakouts at the moment which kinda hurt at first. After using the mask, they don't hurt almost at all anymore and my pores do look cleaner and blackheads lighter.

As I have combination skin, I would use it once a week. For ladies with oily skin or acne problems, I would suggest to use it twice a week.

Overall, I'm very happy with this mask and will repurchase once my 8oz will be empty :)

Tellisin Queen Helene The Original Mint Julep Masque näomaski veidi enam kui kuu aega tagasi iHerbist. Ma olen üldiselt kogu maskibisessis üsna võhik, seega lootsin, et arvukad kiitvad netiarvustused paika peavad. Õnneks pidasid! :)

Mask lubab kuivatada aknepunne, puhastada ummistunud poore ja komedoone.

Maski tuleb kanda puhastatud näole ja jätta peale kuni 15 minutiks.

Esmalt meeldib mulle selle maski piparmündine lõhn. Teiseks ei kuivata see mu nahka nii nagu mitmed teised maskid teinud on. Kolmandaks näivad mu poorid tõesti puhtamad ja ka komedoonid on vähem märgatavad. Lisaks meeldib mulle ka see veidi õhetav tunne, mis maski peale kandes tekib :)

Mask ise on kreemja konsistentsiga, mis muudab selle pealekandmise väga mugavaks.

Oma segatüüpi nahaga kasutan seda maski korra nädalas. Probleemse ja rasuse nahaga daamid võiksid seda julgelt ka kaks korda nädalas kasutada :)

Kokkuvõtteks olen maskiga väga rahul. Ostsin selle juuli lõpus iHerbist vaid $3.84 eest. Hetkel on mask iHerbis saadaval vaid minisuuruses (56,7g, $1.40) kuid olen enam kui kindel, et üsna pea tuleb taas müüki ka täissuuruses maskituub :)
